Everything I'm taking to the hospital to have my fifth baby. I've done this different ways and this is the very best list I've come up with over the years to make sure I have everything I need, but not too much. I hope this helps you in feeling ready for that hospital experience! Scroll past this image to read about each item below and click to shop!

FOR MOM:
This is the perfect size neutral weekender bag, and should hold everything you need.
Start with a 40 oz. insulated + spill-proof water bottle to keep water cold and a separate 20 oz. water bottle for any other beverage you love
The yummiest powdered greens (use code MEGMILES for a discount!) + water flavoring (taking this flavor!)
Snacks or favorite treats! A must.
Slippers for the hospital and coming home. I also take a couple of cute + comfy socks to wear instead of the hospital socks
A soft robe for the hospital. This is my #1 favorite robe for postpartum. I love it so much I have it in two colors. It's worth every penny and you'll wear it for years.
Sleeping /nursing bras - these are the only bras I bring to the hospital and then I am just sure to put pads in them when breastfeeding (provided by the hospital).
I like to bring my own silverettes, nipple cream (most hospitals will provide some, but I like to take a tiny bit of my own in case), and these heating/cooling packs for sore breastfeeding boobs! I store them in this cute $10 zipper pouch.
Sound machine for nighttime to drown out hospital noise. This one has a great battery and comes in the cutest colors too
Small massage gun. Bry always gifts me a long massage the first or second night on the maternity floor and it's my favorite thing ever.
Cosmetic case with all your favorite skincare/make-up products: I love these de-puffing under eye patches, this body creme, this shampoo/conditioner set, this brush, this flat hair claw clip, this headband, clean / disposable face towels for face washing, and then all my favorite skincare/makeup products. Bringing my favorite products makes me feel pampered and so fresh/clean after delivery.
Comfy and loose pajamas for wearing home. I love these ones and these ones.
A 10-foot phone cord to easily reach your hospital bed from the wall
Camera, extra storage cards, and tripod to capture all the special moments (I'm also bringing this phone tripod too!). No regrets!
Your own pillow and Lola blanket (use MEG35 for 35% off! Best blanket everrr!)
Sleep eye mask - this one's my fave!
Bluetooth speaker - find my birth playlist here
Kindle- This can be a nice distraction if you have a long waiting time or your labor goes longer than expected, etc.
Magnesium oxide pills to help you poop! So much better than stool softeners IMO. Just take a couple before you go to sleep and you'll be happier in the morning!
FOR BABY:
I love this medium size tote to fit things in.
Baby journal for footprints and handprints / pen / Scotch tape - I have these childhood journals for each of my kids and I treasure them. I love taking that first 24 hours and writing their birth story firsthand, the meaning behind their name, special "first" moments, and any hopes or wishes I have for them in this journal too.
2 tiny outfits to photograph the baby in. *If you think your baby is going to be on the smaller side, I always recommend packing a preemie outfit because sometimes they fill them out better when they're so tiny!
1 jersey knit swaddle blanket
Cute pacifiers
Thank you notes + small gifts for nurses (this time I'm pairing a card with a notebook for my nurses!)
I hope this list is helpful for you! I always get so excited when everything is packed up and ready to go. It starts feeling real! Let me know if you have any questions about anything or if you'd add any must-haves yourself!
xx
