How to stick with your goals on vacation and during holidays — the Wilma way.

Summer is full of sunshine, celebration, and sweet memories — and that’s exactly how it should be. But between vacations, long weekends, and the 4th of July BBQs, it can be easy to feel like your health and wellness goals get tossed out the window. If you’ve ever come home from a trip feeling like you need a “reset,” you’re not alone.
But here’s the thing: staying on track doesn’t mean restriction. It doesn’t mean skipping dessert or packing your scale. And it definitely doesn’t mean obsessing over macros while trying to make memories with your kids.
At Wilma, our focus is about showing up for yourself — so you can show up as the best version of you for your family. It’s about progress, not perfection. And it starts with small, doable choices that add up to big impact.
Keep Your Morning Routine With You
One of the best ways to stay grounded while you're out of your normal rhythm is to bring pieces of your morning routine with you. It doesn’t have to be everything — just one or two things that help you feel like you.
Maybe that means sneaking in your Wilma app workout before the rest of the house wakes up. Maybe it’s sipping your coffee in silence, journaling for 5 minutes, or listening to a favorite playlist or podcast. Starting the day with intention gives you a foundation to make better choices all day long. Win the morning, win the day!
Make Your First Meal Count
Breakfast on vacation can be a wild buffet of pancakes, pastries, and sugary cereal — and while there’s absolutely room to enjoy what you love, beginning the day with a balanced plate sets the tone for how you’ll feel later.
Look for fiber and protein — think eggs, fruit, oats, yogurt, or avocado toast. A strong start can help with energy, mood, digestion, and even cravings later in the day. It’s not about restriction. It’s about fueling yourself for the day ahead.
Movement That Feels Good
Staying active doesn’t mean sticking to your regular workout schedule. On vacation, movement might look like a family walk to the beach, chasing kids through the sprinkler, dancing in the kitchen, or squeezing in a 10-minute Wilma core circuit while they nap.
The goal is to stay connected to your body — because it’s amazing, strong, and deserves to be cared for. Not punished.
Give Yourself Grace
Vacations and holidays are meant to be enjoyed. That might mean a second helping of cobbler or skipping your workout to stay up late with cousins on the porch. It’s okay. Health is a long game — and one off day, or even one off week, won’t undo your progress.
The key? Don’t throw in the towel. Instead of starting over, just start again — gently, intentionally, without guilt.
Remember Your “Why”
You’re not working out and nourishing your body to hit a certain number on the scale. You’re doing it so you can have the energy, strength, and presence to live the life you love — and to show your kids what it looks like to care for themselves, too.
That’s what Wilma is all about. So whether you’re on a road trip, at a cabin, or poolside this 4th of July, remember: small choices matter. Keep showing up, even in the smallest ways. Your future self (and your family) will thank you.
